Scotty McCreery wins 'Artist of the Year: New Artist' at 2011 ACAs

Scotty McCreery has taken home the prize for 'Artist of the Year: New Artist' at the 2011 American Country Awards.
The American Idol winner, who is still deciding on his college plans, performed his song 'The Trouble With Girls' before thanking his fans for voting for him.
"Thank you all so much," he said. "This is my first award."
The singer continued: "Thank all you guys, you got me through American Idol."
Finally, he gave a birthday shout-out to his mother.
In November, McCreery said he is looking forward to watching the new season of American Idol - which premieres on January 18 next year - because he will understand what the new contestants are going through.
The 2011 American Country Awards continue on Fox.
