The Saturdays' Frankie Sandford: 'My absence is not due to rehab'

Frankie Sandford has hit back at speculation that her absence from The Saturdays is due to her suffering from an eating disorder or becoming addicted to drink or drugs.
Sandford has been classed as a "part-time" member of the band since being admitted to a clinic for "unconfirmed reasons" back in October.

The singer has now denied claims that she spent the time in a rehab clinic and pledged to explain the circumstances of her absence in the near future.
"I was hospitalised, it wasn't rehab," she told The Sun. "I don't think there's anything wrong with rehab. It takes a lot of courage to enter facilities to try to beat any addiction or overcome issues, but mine is a medical condition.
"I will talk about it in detail one day soon, for the sake of my fans, as they want to know. But I will say it wasn't alcohol, drugs or an eating disorder. And the dark days are now behind me. My family, friends and boyfriend Wayne Bridge have been wonderful."

As well as being happy with the progress she made in her personal life, Sandford said that she was proud of what The Saturdays had achieved in the music industry.
"What I think is nice about the band is that we built ourselves up from the bottom," she said. "We didn't get our break from X Factor. We weren't a household name right away. We've grafted hard."
