The singer is one of three artists nominated for the award, which rounds up music critics' tips for mainstream success in the year ahead.
Sande - who scored a top five hit earlier this year with 'Heaven' - is joined by Maverick Sabre and soul singer Michael Kiwanuka.
London-Irish Sabre entered the charts earlier this year with his debut single 'Let Me Go' and follow-up 'I Need', while Kiwanuka released his debut EP Tell Me A Tale in March and supported Adele's UK tour dates.
The winner of the prize, which is presented in association with international charity War Child, will be announced on Thursday, December 15.
Last year's prize was awarded to Jessie J, while previous years have seen Ellie Goulding, Florence + the Machine and Adele pick up the accolade.
