Foo Fighters New Zealand gig causes volcanic scale tremors

The band were playing a show in Western Springs in support of their latest album Wasting Light, when 50,000 fans' dancing caused the ground to tremble.
The vibrations were recorded by two seismic stations. The first came from Tenacious D's support set, while the biggest came when the Foo Fighters took to the stage, reports Rolling Stone.
Scientists from Auckland GeoNet explained: "The cause of the shaking is most likely the weight of the 50,000 fans dancing, as 50,000 fans is equal to around 5,000 tonnes of mass moving (or moshing) on the ground for the duration of the concert.
"This set up a nice harmonic vibration in the ground which was recorded in our nearby borehole seismometers."
Foo Fighters recently revealed that they plan to start writing their eighth studio album next year, after they have completed their world tour.
