The artist - real name Timothy McKenzie - will release his first record on March 19, 2012 under Simon Cowell's Syco label.

The album will contain his two hit singles 'Let the Sun Shine' and 'Earthquake' featuring Tinie Tempah.

Labrinth is currently in the process of completing the album from his studio in Wood Green, London.

Of the album, he said: "I'm a musical geek. It's like there's this big, wild universe in my head and I love to express it. My whole ethos is musical freedom. I've really learnt that while developing myself."

The singer recently revealed that he has been working on some "crazy collaborations" with US artists.
