The Wanted's Max George in Twitter baby scare

The Wanted's Max George recently had a baby scare following a seres of Twitter posts from fans.

The boyband star, who is engaged to Coronation Street actress Michelle Keegan, revealed that he was bombarded with tweets congratulating him on his fiancée's supposed pregnancy.

"Someone tweeted me saying, 'I am so happy Michelle is pregnant', and I was like, 'I don't know about this'," he told the Daily Star.

"I had a little panic and rang her. She told me she was shopping in a baby shop looking for a present for her cousin's baby. It would be quite weird if I had found out through Twitter. Imagine that!"

Keegan was spotted by fans during a shopping spree at Manchester's Mamas & Papas store. George added that the couple have discussed having children, saying that his bandmates would make ideal godfather candidates.

"I do definitely want kids, even if I'm still in The Wanted. We do talk about it now and again. Not just yet, but I don't want to be waiting forever to have a kid," he added. "I've got some good godparents to hand with these boys in the band."

Last month, George was crowned Specsavers' 'Spectacle Wearer of the Year' at a star-studded ceremony staged at London's Battersea Power Station.
