The singer was thought to have been dropped from the band back in September after they announced plans to hold auditions for a new lead vocalist.
However, Bloc Party were quick to deny Okereke's axe from the group and posted an image of the lineup which included the singer alongside the caption: "Bloc Party is still Bloc Party."
Okereke has now revealed that a new Bloc Party album with himself on lead vocals will be released later this year, during an interview with Zane Lowe on Radio 1 this morning (January 3).
During Bloc Party's recent hiatus, Okereke debuted his new solo single 'What Did I Do', which features Lucy Taylor.
