However, the rapper admitted that he originally wrote the song - titled 'Chasing The Sun' - for Kylie Minogue, but didn't bother sending it to her as he knew it would suit The Wanted more.
Example told the Daily Star: "When I wrote it, I was in a studio session for Kylie, so the verses were a bit spiritual. But when we finished I was like: 'This is The Wanted', and didn't even bother running it past Kylie.
"I sent it straight over to their record label and they loved it. The guy who signed me in America is releasing the band in the States on Def Jam and he said: 'This could be big in America.'"
Talking about his own plans to crack the US music charts, Example added: "'Changed The Way You Kissed Me' is coming out in February in America and if it kicks off then I might do some gigs.
"Some people have a master plan and say they're going to smash it there. They did that with Craig David, Robbie Williams, N-Dubz.
"When you go in with that it never works. You have to almost achieve something by accident. Go, be yourself and see what happens. I'll go with an open mind."
The Wanted's Jay McGuiness recently told Digital Spy that 'Chasing The Sun' is "similar in some ways to 'Glad You Came'".
