The singer's multi-million-selling sophomore record has returned to the Billboard 200 top spot after selling 144,000 copies over the past week.
Having now spent a 14th week at number one in the US, 21 is now tied with Whitney Houston's self-titled debut for the third-most number of weeks at the top from a female artist, reports Billboard.
Meanwhile, last week's US number one - Michael Buble's Christmas - has plummeted down to number 24 as the festive periods draws to a close.
Adele is also on course to reclaim the UK album chart top spot with 21 this Sunday, having sold over 5,000 more copies than her nearest rival.
