The 'Believe' star announced on Twitter that she is hoping to head out on the road again for the first time since 2001, when she toured to support her last LP Living Proof.
When a follower asked if her upcoming record had been finished yet, Cher replied: "God no,but it will b out this year, maybe to coincide with (X Our Fingers) Tour?"
Cher previously expressed a desire to tour again after the release of her film Burlesque in 2010.
The 65-year-old said at the time that she would include her numbers from the movie - 'Welcome to Burlesque' and 'You Haven't Seen the Last of Me' - during the proposed jaunt.
Cher finished a three-year residency at Las Vegas casino Caesars Palace last February.
