The Bon Iver frontman created Chigliak Records for unheard songs and unsigned acts, reports Rolling Stone.
Vernon also plans to use the record label for local "heroes" from his native Wisconsin, as well as tracks that have never before been released on vinyl.
Chigliak will be a part of the Jagjaguwar label, to which Bon Iver are currently signed.
Vernon recently revealed that he will appear in a new workout DVD entitled On the Road.
Bon Iver will perform at 2012's Coachella music festival in April.
