Blur's Graham Coxon announces new solo album 'A+E'

Graham Coxon has announced plans to release his eighth studio album.

The singer-songwriter and Blur guitarist confirmed that his new LP is called A+E and will be released on April 2.

The new collection will feature ten brand new songs from the musician, supported with a 14-date tour of the UK this spring.

Coxon described A+E as "improvisations, experiments in beats, rhythms. A chance to uninhibitedly make some sort of perversely sad, danceable and funny and despondent songs."

He added: "I didn't want to get caught up in my usual struggle with trying to make things sound really posh. I didn't want lovely '60s-sounding drums and valves."

Blur frontman Damon Albarn recently revealed that the band have been meeting up to record new material together.
