The former American Idol winner, who recently had a top ten hit with single 'Mr Know It All', will take to the stage to sing 'The Star Spangled Banner' on February 5.
According to The AP, the NFL plans to officially announce Clarkson's appearance later this month, but the singer retweeted an article confirming the performance on her Twitter page.
The Voice coach Blake Shelton is scheduled to sing 'America the Beautiful' at the sports game alongside his wife Miranda Lambert. Clarkson will join Shelton on the reality TV series as a guest mentor when it returns to US screens next month.
Christina Aguilera famously fluffed her lines while performing the US National Anthem at last year's Super Bowl. She later said: "That night I knew, I just made myself a Trivial Pursuit question. 'In 2011 what female singer, ya know, flubbed the lyrics'. It's just insane."
Other stars who have previously performed at the event include Carrie Underwood, Beyoncé and Whitney Houston.
Clarkson performed at Australia's National Rugby League Grand Final last year to rave reviews.
