The rapper and wife Beyoncé became the parents of a baby girl, named Blue Ivy Carter, last week (January 7). However, Jay-Z has now written a poem to celebrate his child's birth, reports NME.
The poem reads: "Before I got in the game, made a change, and got rich/ I didn't think hard about using the word bitch/ I rapped, I flipped it, I sold it, I lived it/ Now with my daughter in this world I curse those that give it."
The star also promises to protect his daughter and vows that his degradation of women within his music "has passed".
He continued: "No man will degrade her, or call her name. I'm so focused on your future, the degradation has passed. I wish you wealth, health and insight. Forever young you may pass. Blue Ivy Carter, my angel."
Jay-Z and his daughter Blue Ivy recently released a track called 'Glory'. After being listed on the Billboard chart last week, Blue Ivy became the youngest person in music history to be credited on the listings.
