The album is said to be based around the works of Scottish poet Robert Burns. Former I'm a Celebrity star Gest first revealed the existence of the album four years ago, but had not released it until recently.
The collection of show tunes was intended for a musical project to be directed by Gene Kelly and produced by Anthony Perkins, but the movie was scrapped when both actors had passed away.
Gest explained that he has now donated the album to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum in Ayrshire.
He told BBC Alba: "We went to his recording studio at the [Jackson] family house in Encino, where all the Jacksons grew up and we took about eight or ten of Burns's poems and we put them to contemporary music, things like 'A Red, Red Rose' and 'Ae Fond Kiss' and the story of 'Tam O'Shanter'."
The National Trust for Scotland's spokesperson confirmed Gest's visit, saying: "We understand there was some discussion about the donation of some musical materials. If it goes ahead it will be an exciting addition."
Michael Jackson is set to have a Glee episode dedicated to his music in an upcoming episode.
