The Horrors frontman Faris Badwan allegedly punched a crowd member in the face during one of the band's gigs.

The singer is accused of hitting out at the fan while performing at Liverpool's Kazimier on Tuesday (January 17) by an eyewitness who was in the audience.

According to Pete Guy, the apparent victim Jake Nolan was then removed from the venue after a brief scuffle.

Guy told NME: "The Horrors were playing 'Three Decades' and out of nowhere, Faris punched the lad in the side of the face and that sparked at least six other lads in the crowd into kicking off at Jake.

"He got booted in the face and there was a scuffle for a couple of minutes before a bouncer pulled him out of the crowd and he was taken out the venue."

However, The Horrors' official spokesperson has since stated that no fight took place and that Badwan only gave Nolan "a clip round the ear".

They said: "There was a guy in the crowd causing trouble throughout the gig so Faris gave him a clip round the ear at the end, but that's all, there wasn't a fight."

The Horrors' current gigs were rescheduled from November when Badwan had to cancel a handful of shows due to illness.
