Adele has broken a US chart record set by The Beatles and Pink Floyd.
The singer's second album 21 spent a 16th week at number one on the US Billboard 200 this week, matching the success of the Titanic soundtrack.

However, the accolade also means that the songstress has become the first British act to spend 16 weeks at the top of the album chart in the US, reports The Sun.
21 has beaten The Beatles' Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and Pink Floyd's The Wall, which had previously held the record with runs of 15 weeks atop the Stateside chart.
Adele managed to shift a further 104,000 copies of 21 in the US over the past week, despite having already sold over 17 million copies worldwide to date.
