Robbie Williams has spoken about his forthcoming album Rudebox.
The singer has split public opinion by experimenting with a new style, but he firmly believes that the decision was a step in the right direction.
"I couldn't make another album like the ones I've made, and this new one has just opened up a thousand other doors," he explained. "With this album I've lost the fear of where I should be in my head as a populist. It means I can just go and do wonky pop now as this is all I really wanted to do anyway."
He added: "I'm 32 years old, eight albums in, and this is the record I've always wanted to make. It's the start for me."
