Ed Sheeran, Noel Gallagher nominated for Xfm's New Music Award

Noel Gallagher and Ed Sheeran have been nominated for Xfm's New Music Award.
The prize, which is in its fifth consecutive year, will be handed to the artist who is voted to have made the best debut album over the past 12 months.


Other albums competing for the award include Beady Eye's Different Gear, Still Speeding, James Blake's self-titled collection and The Vaccines' What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?
Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody and Muse's Dom Howard will appear on the judging panel for this year's prize, which will consist of a range of musicians, journalists, industry workers and broadcasters.
Previous winners of the award include The xx with xx, Stornoway with Beachcomber's Windowsill and Glasvegas for their self-titled debut.
The overall winners will be announced at a ceremony on February 8 at the HMV Ritz in Manchester.
