Lana Del Rey, Arctic Monkeys, Noel Gallagher nominated for NME Awards

Lana Del Rey and Noel Gallagher are among the artists that are nominated for this year's NME Awards.


The full nominations were first announced during Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show earlier tonight (January 30).
Arctic Monkeys are up for seven awards, including 'Best British Band' where they will face off against Kasabian, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Horrors and Muse.
Lana Del Rey is curiously nominated for 'Best New Band' alongside Tribes, The Vaccines, Wu Lyf and Foster The People.

Kasabian, Florence + the Machine, Del Rey and Muse are nominated for three awards each, while Hurts, The Horrors and The Vaccines are recognised for two prizes.
Noel Gallagher - who will be awarded the 'Godlike Genius Award' - is also nominated for four other awards, including 'Best Solo Artist' and 'Best Album'.


While Gallagher is up for 'Hero of the Year' against the likes of Dave Grohl and Matt Bellamy, his brother Liam Gallagher is up for 'Villain of the Year' against David Cameron, Lady GaGa and Justin Bieber among others.
Coldplay are nominated for 'Worst Band' and 'Worst Album', while the likes of Drive and Black Swan are up for 'Best Film'.
The winners will be announced at the O2 Academy Brixton on February 29. Tickets for the event will go on sale on Wednesday February 1 at 9am from the NME website.
My Chemical Romance and Muse were among the big winners at last year's NME awards.
