Conor Maynard wins MTV Brand New for 2012

Conor Maynard has been named the winner of MTV's Brand New for 2012 competition.
The singer placed ahead of King Charles who came in second place, while Lana Del Rey was third.
Speaking about his win, Maynard said: "It's such an amazing feeling winning MTV's Brand New 2012. I can't thank the fans and viewers enough for voting, and MTV for selecting me in the first place! Hope this is the first success of many to come!"
Maynard won the competition with nearly 50% of the public vote, which consisted of 150,000 unique votes cast for the ten nominated artists.
As the MTV Brand New for 2012 winner, the 19-year-old will receive ongoing priority endorsement throughout the year along with editorial and promotional support across MTV's network of UK channels and websites.
Meanwhile, Clement Marfo and the Frontline came in fourth place, while Angel was voted in at number five.
