Harry Styles may be promoted to lead singer of One Direction, a report has claimed.
The group's label Columbia wants Styles to be the face of the X Factor boyband as they attempt to crack the US, says the Daily Star.

"Columbia music execs are rubbing their hands with glee. It looks like One Direction are going to be absolutely massive in America," a source alleged.
"They decided long ago that Harry is a natural frontman. He's funny, confident and has a great voice," the insider added.
However, a supposed friend of the group claimed that Styles, along with bandmates Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Liam Payne, are unwilling to accept the plan.
"They are determined to carry on the way they have been - without a lead singer. Harry certainly hasn't asked for all this attention," the separate source said.
