The 'Somebody Like You' singer underwent an operation to remove a polyp on his vocal chord. The singer was then put on vocal rest by his doctors and ordered not to speak or sing for several weeks.
He was forced to cancel a slate of concert dates, including a scheduled performance at the All for the Hall benefit.
Urban made his first concert appearance since the procedure at the Ryman Auditorium's Grand Ole Opry this past weekend to perform a selection of his greatest hits.
His concert appearance was also the final gig at the legendary Grand Ole Opry before the building undergoes extensive renovation.

Last month, Urban admitted he was anxious to perform again and also revealed that it was very difficult for him to stay totally silent around his and Nicole Kidman's daughter Sunday.
"Not being able to talk for three weeks, that's a long time. If you have to engage in some sort of heated discussion, the other person can talk and I just have to write," he said at the time.
"My 3-year-old daughter can't read, so I had that issue too… Mum had to communicate."
