Glaswegian musician Rustie has won The Guardian's 'First Album Award'.
The Warp musician's album from October 2011 topped a shortlist featuring last year's debuts from Katy B, The Vaccines, James Blake, Anna Calvi, Wu Lyf, Big Deal, SBTRKT, Summer Camp and Jamie Woon.

Awards judge Tim Jonze said: More than any other album on the list, Rustie's Glass Swords felt like it summed up the state of music in the last 12 months - a sensory overload of sound to represent our attention-hopping, information-soaked age.
"But it was more than just a technical feat, and the judges praised its emotional edge and subtle attention to detail too, not to mention its perfect understanding of how a record works on the dancefloor."
Rustie told the newspaper of his music: "You know that feeling you get when you go out, that feeling that's so great, Well, it's trying to recreate that on record, that sense of euphoria."
