Libertines record single separately

Carl Barat and Pete Doherty have both lent their voices to a new cover song, but the process did not involve them being in a recording studio together.
The pair are just two of the stars who have contributed to a new version of The Clash's 'Janie Jones' being recorded as a tribute to the band's late frontman Joe Strummer.
Dirty Pretty Things lead singer Carl Barat told NME: "Am I recording for Strummerville? Yeah, I've done that already. This fella just popped round with his computer and said 'sing onto this' and then he was gone."
He added: "Pete's on it, The Paddingtons are on it, loads of bands are on it. I haven't heard it yet. It's one of those things in passing."
