The band will headline Saturday's programme on the Main Stage at the Isle of Wight event, a slot which has previously been occupied by acts including Kraftwerk, The Cure and Amy Winehouse.
Organiser Rob da Bank said in a statement on Tuesday morning (February 14): "So I've got 'Blue Monday' blaring out of the Bestival HQ office speakers as we unveil our iconic Saturday night headliner New Order. It doesn't get better than that… but it does!
"'True Faith', 'Bizarre Love Triangle', 'Fine Time', 'Regret' - so many amazing records I grew up listening to and still listen to now and they still sound immense, pioneering, legendary. See you down the front!"
New Order join Orbital, who have been confirmed as Sunday night's headline act on the Big Top second stage.
Friendly Fires, Django Django, Zulu Winter and Death in Vegas have also been added to the bill today.
Emeli Sandé, Two Door Cinema Club, Justice and Azealia Banks are among around 40 acts already confirmed for Bestival, with Sigur Rós and The xx also performing in UK festival exclusives.
Bestival takes place from September 6-9 at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle Of Wight. Tickets are on sale now.
