Adele has said that people are always surprised by her "carefree" attitude when they meet her.
The singer joked that everyone always thinks she is "f**king miserable" due to the themes of heartbreak and despair that play throughout her multi-million-selling album 21.

Speaking to US Vogue, Adele explained: "People think that I'm f**king miserable. They are really surprised when they meet me that I'm chatty and bubbly and kind of quite carefree, really."
She added: "I am quite loud and bolshie. I'm a big personality."
During the same interview, Adele claimed that she plans to take a "four- or five-year" break from music to concentrate on her personal life.
However, the star has since refuted this and confirmed that she will be "straight into the studio" after next week's Brit Awards.
