The singer had sold over 85,000 units of her new record Our Version of Events by Thursday according to Music Week, making it likely that she will reach the milestone in time for Sunday's Official Chart announcement.
The sales figure rivals Lana Del Rey's Born To Die, which became the biggest seller of 2012 so far with sales of 116,745.
Rey's album slips to two this week, while Adele's six-time Grammy-winning 21 sits close behind in third place.
Sandé recently announced that she will support Coldplay's US tour, adding: "Coldplay have been so supportive of me, they treat me very well. I want to take my music as far as I can so I will be doing some shows there in March."
Earlier this week she covered Blur's 'Country House' for Radio 1's Live Lounge.
