Britney Spears: 'Whitney Houston death is devastating'

Britney Spears has described the death of Whitney Houston as "devastating".

The singer admitted that she was huge fan of Houston and was shocked by the news of her death.

"I was the biggest fans of hers," she told CNN at the Grammy Awards. "She influenced me so much growing up and it's really devastating and shocking, really shocking."

X Factor judge LA Reid added: "When you're as good as Whitney, when you're the gold standard of singing, you impress so many people, you influence so many people.

"There will be many, many singers from now who will be impacted and influenced by Whitney Houston."

It was recently reported that fans of Houston have been urged by police to stay away from her funeral this weekend.
