Motörhead's Lemmy has urged fans not to buy the band's new 15-disc boxset.

The legendary heavy metallers are apparently outraged over the price of the new Complete Early Years Box Set, which has been priced at $644 (£409).

Motörhead frontman Lemmy has taken to the group's official website to warn fans that the band had no input on the collection of their early studio work.

"Unfortunately greed once again rears its yapping head. I would advise against it even for the most rabid completists," he wrote.

Lemmy has instead suggested that the group's loyal fans purchase the officially authorised DVD The Wörld Is Ours-Vol 1 - Everywhere Further Than Everyplace Else.

Motörhead released their 20th studio album The Wörld Is Yours in December 2010.

The group's former guitarist Michael 'Würzel' Burston passed away from heart disease last summer.
