Scissor Sisters lash out at US music scene
Published Tuesday, Sep 12 2006, 16:37 BST | By David Cribb

The band believe the state of the US music scene is superficial, and concentrates too much on celebrity culture, rather than the musical side of things.
Frontman Jake Shears said: "We have a great fan base and I don't think you could ask for much more. All I have to do is watch the MTV Awards and thank Christ we don't have to be within a 50-mile radius of it."
"I mean, it's more about Nicole Richie than it is about any music thing. That's what I think about when I think about American music - Nicole Richie, who doesn't even make music!"
