The singer's second set 21 has now reached UK sales of 4.14 million units since its release in January 2011, making it the seventh best-selling record in Britain of all time.
Adele has passed Pink Floyd's 1973 classic album The Dark Side Of The Moon, which has sold 4.11 million copies to date, reports the Official Charts Company.
The star is also only 12,000 copies behind sixth-placed album Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits and could pass them later this week.
However, Adele has over 1.5 million more copies to sell to head the list, which is held by Queen's Greatest Hits with total UK sales of 5.86 million.
It's been reported that the songstress has been warned against extensive touring throughout 2012 over fears that she could permanently damage her vocal chords.
