Paramore's 'Only Exception' plagiarism lawsuit dropped
Florida band Tenspoke Indies had sued the group over their 2010 single 'The Only Exception', alleging that it bore a distinct resemblance to their track 'Starlighter'.
The band demanded damages over "copyright infringement", adding that the song copies "introductions, arrangements, chord progression, key, melody, lyrical theme, rhythm and tempo" to their own track.
Paramore have now confirmed on their official website that the "frivolous" lawsuit has been dropped.
"We'd like to let Paramore fans know that yesterday the frivolous lawsuit claiming Paramore plagiarised another band's work regarding 'The Only Exception' was officially dropped.
"There was never a doubt in our minds that the case would go any further, as this song, which Paramore wrote every note of, is very personal to them and one they are extremely proud of."
Paramore are currently working on their "diverse-sounding" fourth studio album.
The Hayley Williams-fronted band will perform at this year's Reading and Leeds festivals.
