Adele's latest album has now raced ahead by 4,000 copies to the Dire Straits collection and is starting to catch up with Michael Jackson's iconic Thriller LP, reports the Official Charts Company.
The star achieved the feat just days after pushing ahead of Pink Floyd's classic album The Dark Side of the Moon.
21 has sold over 4.15 million copies in the UK alone since last January, with one in six households owning a copy of the album.
Adele's 21 has sold over 18 million copies worldwide and has gone to number one in over 30 countries.
