"I had to stop myself after every song. I would be like, 'Wow'," Welch admitted to Reuters.

The singer continued: "It was so amazing performing the songs stripped-back and just really being able to concentrate on the songs and the emotions."

The Civil Wars and Dierks Bentley will also appear during the new season of MTV Unplugged, which first aired in 1989.

Eric Clapton, Tony Bennett, Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Mariah Carey and Katy Perry have all performed on the acoustic music series over the past 23 years.

Florence + the Machine's MTV Unplugged set will debut online on April 8 on MTV's international websites.

The LP release Florence + the Machine: MTV Unplugged - A Live Album is available for purchase in the UK on April 9 and the US on April 10.
