The Two and a Half Men star donned a black cowboy hat on Sunday's awards ceremony to perform a version of George Strait's US Country No.1 hit.
Miranda Lambert appeared to take offence to Kutcher's tongue-in-cheek performance in a Twitter post, writing: "Was Ashton Kutcher making fun of country or is it just me? Watching it back now and I'm kinda wondering?"
When several of Lambert's fans tweeted their agreement that his performance was intended to poke fun at country music, Kutcher responded to make his intentions clear.
"I Am One Of The biggest country Music fans you've ever met. Wasn't making fun at all," Kutcher tweeted on Tuesday.
The star also wished Lambert "congratulations" on winning two ACM Awards.
