The singer will put out 'Mercy' as the second cut to be lifted from his self-titled debut album, which was released back in March.
Collins co-wrote the track with Lee McCutcheon and Lisa Green and will officially release the single on June 3.
Speaking about the upbeat song, Collins explained: "No-one wants to see misery at the moment. Smile. Make people smile with you. And do songs that make people smile. We've never needed that more than at the moment."
'Mercy' follows the star's debut single 'Seven Nation Army', which reached number nine on the UK chart last month.
Collins recently admitted that he sees his former X Factor mentor Gary Barlow as a father figure after the Take That star helped executive produce his debut album.
