"I'd love to work with someone outrageously 'pop'," he said. "It would be a new challenge.

"I doubt it will ever happen though - I'd probably ruin her career. A couple of singles with me and she'd be f**ked."

Tricky added that he also hoped to record with PJ Harvey, explaining: "I worked with her before, but she sang a song I'd written. I'd like her to write the lyrics and I'll do the music."

His third hoped-for collaboration was with hip-hop legend Slick Rick "purely because he had such a big influence on me when I was growing up".

In 2010, Tricky released his ninth studio album Mixed Race, which featured contributions from Franky Riley, Terry Lynn, Bobby Gillespie, Hakim Hamadouche, Blackman and Marlon Thaws.

Soon after the release of the album, Tricky suggested that he would not be against a reunion with his former Massive Attack bandmates after healing their rift a year earlier.
