Labrinth has revealed that Simon Cowell doesn't see him as an urban artist.

The singer revealed that the X Factor judge and record label boss considers him a musician rather than a popstar as he has heard songs that have yet to be released.

"Simon doesn't believe I'm an urban act," Labrinth told the Huffington Post UK. "I tell him I'm an urban act more than he believes it 'cause he's heard stuff that the public haven't heard yet.

"He kind of sees me more as a musician than as an urban popstar. Simon's been supportive and he's kind of pushed me to be even more creative in my own right, so I respect someone like that."

Labrinth's debut album Electronic Earth is out now and is currently number two on the UK midweek chart.
