The Babyshambles frontman explained that he already has a song in mind if he were asked.
"I was saying to this bird the other night, 'I would love to do Eurovision'," he told French magazine L'Officiel.
"She was going 'Nah, it's really tacky', but f**k that. I would love to do it and I would love to win it for England. I've got the song.
"F**k it, let's get in the Eurovision. Actually, I would like to enter on behalf of France," he added.
Doherty also slammed "bland" bands that don't have a sense of style to complement their music.
"With 99 per cent of bands who are completely bland, you know that their look is going to be equally disposable. There's nothing there to sink your teeth into or remember forever. By definition, you can't look s**t if you're in The Specials or The Sex Pistols," he said.
The singer-songwriter recently confessed that he became depressed following the death of his friend Amy Winehouse.
Doherty has also revealed that he has written 12 tracks for a future solo album.
Engelbert Humperdinck will represent the UK at this year's Eurovision with his song 'Love Will Set You Free'.
