Back in 2010, Lil Kim suggested that Minaj should show respect to her since she apparently paved the way for Minaj's success.
Lil Kim then recorded Black Friday, which referenced Minaj's own album Pink Friday. Minaj subsequently released 'Tragedy', calling out Lil Kim for selling Black Friday through PayPal.
"It's not about publicity. It's about wanting that respect," Eve told BET.
"I think maybe that's where Kim is coming from, like, you're doing your thing right now and no-one can take that away from you, Nicki - we all see it - but at the end of the day, if it wasn't for Kim, she wouldn't be here and that s**t is real."
When it comes to up and coming female rappers Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea, Eve admitted to liking Banks more than the Grand Hustle rapper.
"I like Azealia Banks. I think her style is dope," Eve said. "If you listen to her lyrics, she knows how to wordplay and I think that's cute.
"I'm not really into the Iggy Azalea chick. I can't really f**k with her music, but her look is crazy. I just can't believe it."
Eve released her last album Eve-Olution in 2002 but is gearing up to debut new music.
She described her new record as "well-rounded" featuring tracks that are "hard street" and radio friendly but will be loyal to her old fans.
