Rose penned a personal letter to Hall of Fame organizers this week to say that he will avoid an "awkward situation" by not appearing and also requested that he not be inducted "in absentia".

Stradlin reacted to Rose's statement in a message posted by his former Guns N' Roses bandmate Duff McKagan on Seattle Weekly's website.

"I have waited up to this point to see what would become of the GNR induction into RRHOF," Stradlin wrote. "I would like to say THANK YOU and GRACIAS to RRHOF for the acknowledgement of our works over the years as a band. BIG THANKS to all my bandmates who helped get us to where we are today."

The rhythm guitarist's statement continued with a message to his fans: "Of course, THANK YOU to all of the people on this planet (including, but not limited to, the entire universe and beyond, etc., etc., etc.) who have supported Guns N' Roses from day one. Adios, Amigos!"

It its not yet known if Stradlin will be attending tonight's induction ceremony, but drummer Steven Adler and guitarist Slash are expected to appear.

Guns N' Roses will be inducted into the hall of fame by Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, Tre Cool and Mike Dirnt.

Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Faces/The Small Faces, the Beastie Boys and Laura Nyro will also join the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this evening.
