Cold medicine brand Theraflu has insisted that it did not force Kanye West to change the title of his new song.

The track, which was titled 'Theraflu' before the musician altered the name to 'Way Too Cold', contains references to Kris Humphries, the estranged husband of West's rumoured new girlfriend Kim Kardashian.

While reports suggested that West caved in to legal pressure from the company, his record label Island Def Jam and the cold medicine representatives claim it's not true.

Theraflu delivered a statement to TMZ to clear up the situation.

It said: "Novartis Consumer Health did not ask that the name be changed - that request would be way too cold."

The company had previously stated: "We in no way endorse or approve of the references or use of the image and likeness of Theraflu in this manner."

'Way Too Cold's artwork has also been slightly altered, with the Theraflu bottle being painted over in place of a white bottle shape.
