Although Zedd has previously remixed tracks for GaGa, the pair met for the first time at a gig in London last October, Billboard reports.
Interscope A&R representative Dave Rene said: "I introduced them in London at a Beats event. I said, 'GaGa, I want you to meet Zedd'. She just reached her arm out and touched him and said, 'Let's work together'."
Zedd (aka Anton Zaslavski) has remixed tracks including 'Born This Way' and 'Marry The Night'.
The 22-year-old confirmed: "I did remixes for her in the past, and now I'll be going on tour with her in Asia.
"She's leaving earlier [than me], I leave right after Coachella, and we'll be on tour until June 3, I think."
Interscope reps have not offered any further information on GaGa and Zedd's collaboration, but GaGa is understood to be working on a follow-up to Born This Way.
Interscope Geffen A&M Records chairman Jimmy Iovine said of Zedd: "He's unique. With producing, you can acquire a feel along the way. Zedd already has it, at a very young age, which makes him a really exciting prospect.
"He knows song structure and he has the basic instincts of production. When I see that in people, I work with them."
