The Icelandic singer has spent April performing a residency at Buenos Aires Centro de Exposiciones in Argentina, but a vocal cord ailment has resulted in the final two shows being axed.
Bjork explained the cancellations in a blog post: "I'm sorry to say that I have a nodule on my vocal cords ... therefore cannot complete buenos aires gigs ...
"Shame , as i really love the city and would have loved to stay longer . i hope i can go back later soon !!! warmth , björk."
It is not yet known what sort of treatment Bjork will receive for the vocal cord nodules.
Bjork previously developed growths on her vocal cords in 2008, but chose to do stretching exercises rather than undergo surgery at that time.
The singer is known for her distinctive vocal style. She possesses a three octave vocal range and has also experimented with throat singing.
Bjork's latest studio record Biophilia reached the top 30 on both the US and UK album charts.
