Band member Harry Styles accidentally thanked BBC Radio 1 listeners for their 'Best British Single' award, when it was Capital FM's audience who voted for them.
Global executive president and founder Ashley Tabor was allegedly upset over the mishap and immediately ordered all One Direction songs to be removed from the playlists.
"On the night of the Brits there was an email to on-air teams saying to remove One Direction songs from music logs and to not talk about them," a Global Radio source told Radio Today.
"It's as if they no longer exist at Capital."

Asked about the band's omission from Global Radio stations, a spokesperson said: "We never comment on playlist decisions."
One Direction were quick to issue an apology for the mistake. However, airplay figures show Capital FM hasn't played a single track by One Direction since February 21 - the night of the Brit Awards 2012.
Furthermore, when the boyband became the first ever group to reach number one in the US with their debut album, Capital FM did not mention the achievement during its news bulletins, despite it being a big story across the media.
