Mumford & Sons on new album: 'There will be no tricks'

By
Mumford & Sons have promised fans that they haven't taken a new direction on their upcoming album.

Keyboardist Ben Lovett revealed that the band's second studio album will be a natural progression from their multi-million-selling debut Sigh No More.

"We can't really come out with any tricks or new sounds because we have the instruments we play and we sing songs," Lovett told BBC Radio 1's Zane Lowe.

"We've just made another record that we felt best represented where we got to."

The musician also confirmed that Mumford & Sons will tour the UK again this autumn.

"I think we're feeling pretty refreshed," Lovett explained. "It got to a point with the touring, that as much as we were enjoying it, we were also running ourselves into the ground a bit.

"I'm dying to get out on the road and be the band we were in the first place. We formed to tour, we can go back to our comfort zone and play some gigs."

Mumford & Sons recently confirmed shows in the UK and Ireland this June as part of their 'Gentlemen of the Road Stopover...' tour.
