The Darkness have revealed that the name of their forthcoming record will be Hot Cakes.

Newly reformed, the glam rock band's third studio album will be released on August 20.

The Darkness

Brothers Justin and Dan Hawkins produced the LP alongside long-time collaborator Nick Brine. The songs were mixed by Bob Ezrin.

Over six-and-a-half years have passed since the 'I Believe in a Thing Called Love' group released their last LP, One Way Ticket To Hell... and Back.

Frontman Justin Hawkins recently told fans to expect "extreme metal" in the summer record.

The Darkness are set for a popularity boost after it was announced last month they would be supporting Lady GaGa's 'Born This Way Ball' on all of her European legs.
