Akon worked with Damien and Julian Marley on his fourth studio album, which has inspired him to concentrate on a new collection of material that solely centres around the genre.

"It was such an honour to be in that environment and be inspired by it," Akon is quoted by Billboard as saying.

"I always said to myself, 'When I get to that position when I can do an all-reggae album, I would love to do it', and those guys are the best."

Akon recently released a boxing-themed music video for his new Stadium single 'Hurt Somebody'. Talking about the concept, he said: "When you have to deal with rage, I would rather you duke it out than shoot it out."

Stadium follows Akon's 2008 album Freedom, which reached number six on the UK chart and number seven on the US Billboard 200.
