Recently released figures on the Live 8 concerts have revealed that costs for the event were in the region of $14.6 million, leaving a profit of only $4.7 million, according to Gigwise.
New accounts on the international event, organised by Sir Bob Geldof and U2 frontman Bono, show that despite the vast amounts of money raised the majority was eaten up by show costs.
The ten concerts held around the world, which featured artists such as Coldplay, Elton John and the Who, aimed to raise awareness of poverty in Africa.
